Mrs. Cobb

Hi!       I’M MRS. COBB

I am so excited to have the opportunity to be your child’s Kindergarten teacher. It’s going to be a year full of fun, learning, and lots of new adventures!   I look forward to watching each child grow academically and in God’s love!

To tell you a little  about myself…

I was saved at the age of 28 and have been a member of Hilltop Church for 17 years.  My husband and I have been married  for 24 years and we have a wonderful daughter, Ashleigh, who is in the 10th grade.  This will be my 9th year teaching  at Hilltop Christian School.

I am so blessed  that the Lord has placed me in this ministry!

What we’re learning:

So far this school year, we have learned the “short” sounds of the 5 vowels AEIOU and also how to write them in cursive.  We are now learning the consonants.  Very soon we will start connecting the consonants and vowels together to make 3 letter words such as “rat, hen, lip, dog, tub”.  It may seem like we start out slow, but soon enough your child will be bringing home story books to read for homework!

In math class, we started out with counting objects and writing numbers using correct formation.  We will soon learn to write, count, and identify every number up to 100 !  Also, we learned that a penny is worth one cent and how to count pennies.

In Bible class, we have learned about How to live spiritually, God’s creation, Adam & Eve, and Cain & Abel.  Next we’ll learn about Enoch, The man who went to heaven without dying!

Social Studies class has taught us about Community Helpers such as a Fireman, Police Officer, and a Teacher.  Soon the school will have “Community Helper Day” where we will have visitors from the Fuquay Police Dept., Fire Dept, Rescue Dept. and many others that will come talk with the kids and show off their vehicles in our parking lot!

Character Development  is also included in our day.  So far we’ve talked about ways to be courteous to God, our friends, and family.

Using scissors correctly, gluing, and following a color key are skills we are working on during our Readiness Skills class time.

This is just SOME of the things we do every day.  We have a busy schedule everyday, but we have the BEST time doing it all together!

No wonder your kids are exhausted at the end of the day!… (Me too!)

Educational Games and Websites

Most kids enjoy playing computer games and are drawn to them by their vibrant colors, fun music or sounds and the idea of getting responses at the click of a button .  Below is a list of fun free educational websites that can be used to enhance your child’s learning skills.
