Mrs. Falero

My name is Janny Falero. I am married to a wonderful godly man and have been blessed with two amazing boys.  I enjoy quiet walks, pedicures and cooking for my family (including my 3 fabulous sisters). I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior at the age of 9.  I’ve been teaching at HCS for 8 years. Serving as a teacher has been a joy and blessing. My desire is to educate my students in academics as well as spiritual growth while providing a loving, structured environment. I’m trusting God for a great 2017-2018 school year. I have been praying for my students and I ask that you keep me in your prayers that the Lord may shower me with His grace and wisdom.  I look forward to teaming up with you in your child’s educational journey.  “A child’s life is like a piece of paper on which every person leaves a mark.”

A place where little people are encouraged to strive for progress, not for perfection.

Thank you for your thoughts and generosity this week!  I am so blessed to have been appreciated all year. Your prayers, kindness and support have made this an amazing year for me and my class. Thank you for being such encouraging parents. May God’s blessing continue to reign upon you and your families. Thank you for blessing me with your little ones!

Reading Comprehension is necessary for educational growth. Short stories as well as chapter books help children develop understanding and comprehension skills. Junie B. Jones, A to Z Mysteries, Magic School Bus, Cam Jansen and Flat Stanley are great chapter books to begin with.  At least one chapter a day will significantly enhance your child’s reading skills.
Math flashcards provide  practice and the  ability to retain factual knowledge. Children should not depend on fingers. Five minutes s a day will make a great difference.  Counting money  at home allows students to develop skip counting skills while identifying different values.Let them count your loose change! Spelling and Vocabulary will help build word recognition and allow child to read and understand at a faster pace.

Educational Games and Websites

Most kids enjoy playing computer games and are drawn to them by their vibrant colors, fun music or sounds and the idea of getting responses at the click of a button .  Below is a list of fun free educational websites that can be used to enhance your child’s learning skills.  (All of Mrs. Falero’s 2nd grade spelling lists are here. Use this site to review before a test or for enjoyable spelling games.)
